Wharton Sustainable Venture Capital Investment Competition

The Wharton Sustainable Venture Capital Investment Competition will be held from 8am-4:30pm on Saturday, February 28th, 2009 at the Wharton School. This prestigious event has students compete to identify and value breakout businesses with a sustainability focus. The competition allows local entrepreneurs to present their plans to student teams (who play the VC role) and nationally known VCs (who judge the student teams and meet the entrepreneurs).

We are seeking business plans from established companies that are seeking Series A or seed stage funding. As a participating entrepreneur, you will:
• Present in front of VC judges from prestigious US firms (25% of entrepreneurs taking part in our sister VCIC competition gain funding after participating; we are targeting DFJ Element and other top firms)
• Have individual Q&As with each student team, gaining valuable insights as to how to improve your communication around plan and pitch
• Receive a free consultation with a Morgan Lewis emerging growth attorney and the potential for sessions with other emerging growth resources in the area (e.g., investor pitch consultations)
• Be able to read business plan evaluations from top MBA students, including written concept evaluation and term sheets

To be considered, please:
• Submit your business plan in its current form for review by February 9th (include financial projections, detailed market data in the plan; if not available, contact us with what you have and, if you are chosen, we will reach out and help you assemble a full plan by February 28th)
• Agree to make a 10-minute pitch and be willing to take questions from student teams
• Confirm availability of a C-level executive from 8:30am to 4:30pm on Saturday, February 28, 2009
