Social Event Planning

Lisa Deluca, Senior Catering Manager at the Doubletree Hotel Philadelphia, has been overseeing the social events at the hotel for over six years. She will discuss the complexities of event planning for social events, with emphasis on weddings. Topics will include guiding the bride (along with the parents of the bride and groom), working with outside entities such as the florist, band, decorators, and internal forces such as Banquets, Arrangements, Kitchen, and Purchasing).

Learner Outcomes:
• Understand the different departments within the hotel in the context of working a social event, and how they differ from corporate events.
• Learn how to work more effectively with your hotel contacts
• Write a clear BEO with the understanding that there is no room for error with social events!
