Performance Management: Views from both sides of the desk presented by Justina D. Green, MS PHR.

Performance management requires a continuous commitment between a manager and employee to build knowledge and skills that contribute to high performance. The annual review is one tool in the cycle of performance management used to provide feedback and recognize employee work. Through ongoing conversations between manager and employee designed to guide, coach and support, the mutual trepidation surrounding the annual review will begin to diminish.
