An intellectual property license is often a living document that must stand the test of time as technology is developed and commercialized under such a technology transferring instrument. Most licenses will be renegotiated over their life. Many will also end in termination.
The goal of this session is to discuss different parties’ interests in a license negotiation and how these interests affect negotiating position and leverage. We will focus on both financial and non-financial terms of these agreements and how to break deadlocks or overcome a lack of alignment of interests.
